You are what you eat!

So as you know, I teach a class of 12 and 13 year olds! Whatever negative thoughts you are thinking about this age bracket...think again. My class is without a doubt the best in the entire world! Seriously!
We often have class discussions about eating healthily, training hard and living a positive lifestyle. At this age, the students are starting to think more about what they are putting into their mouths as it is effecting their mood, skin, sleeping patterns, weight and so much more. Although the Australian Curriculum always enforces the teaching of a healthy lifestyle, I feel that my class is starting to realise how what we put into our bodies really effects how we behave, think, feel and look.

I always try to be a positive role model for my students by eating healthily, training regularly, being actively involved in both community and global issues as well sharing inspirational and motivational clips to encourage others to do the same.

Often, I make healthy fresh juices/ smoothies and bring them into class (especially if I am feeling a little under the weather!) and some of my students have tried my concoctions. Surprising... they were impressed...mostly :)

I thought I would share some of my favourites online.

January 2, 2012

My goal for my school holidays is to have my office/ craft room, up and running ready for the new school year. I am always in the middle of a million projects, however, I feel if I clean up the room and make it beautiful, I will want to spend time in there and inevitably finish more projects.
At the moment I am making a door plaque for my soon to be niece Layla Grace, I am STILL scrap booking my 2010 Europe trip, I am adding material to customise some tea towels for my kitchen, creating skeletons and caves for my classroom displays and painting canvas with motivational quotes for display my classroom.
See?!? I need to make it pretty. This is the picture of the room I am going to try to recreate. I will send a picture ASAP of my office now and will post pics along the way. This will keep me motivated, knowing that I am showing you :)

Goodbye 2012, hello 2013!

The past few days, friends and I have been swimming, drinking, eating, sun baking, sleeping, boating and partying on Rottnest Island. This was a sensational way to bring in the new year.

2012 was certainly very good to me,
- I planned my first hen's night which was a great success in Margaret River
- I was a bridesmaid for the first time in Leah, one of my best friends/ sister-in-laws, wedding
- I still have the greatest job in the world as a Primary school teacher
- I watched my niece grow up and she is now walking and talking
- Leah fell pregnant and found out she is having a baby girl
- I celebrated my 9 year anniversary with my high school sweetheart
- We finally got air-con

There are so many things to be thankful for in 2012. So many in fact that I have probably forgotten some and almost taken them for granted. That is why this year I am going to be posting a photo/ memory a day of all the wonderful things that happen in my life this year. This way, when I look back at 2013- I can see every sparkle in my life!
And there are many...

I hope my blog can bring joy, love, inspiration, motivation and positivity to your world. I can't take credit for this idea, I actually got it from a friend at Jemima, I always look forward to seeing what she is grateful for in her day and getting awesome photography ideas (as she is a pro!)

Cheers to 2013.. May every day sparkle!
